Day 11

Bonjour!

Wow, truly a memorable day!

It was a full day for sure.  Doug and I ran to the local grocery to pick more wine and staples needed.  Walked over to the Boulangerie for our pain au raison. :)

Then the three of us drove over to the Gare (train station) and took the train into Pau for the woman's Tour de France.  When we arrived we had about an hour to spare so we walked to park.  There was a display of all of the Tour de France winners dated back to the first one in 1903!

We watched the caravan procession and meet a lovely expat couple (Karen and Jim from California) then headed over to Pitaya for Thai.  Delicious!!!!  We headed to our friends and also expats (from Chicago) lovely apartment in-between the Caravan procession and the start/end of the bicycle race.

I'm not a huge bicycle fan but it was truly an event of a lifetime and will be remembered forever!  The nostalgia of being in such a beautiful city, the architecture in the background and the roar of the crowds was just fantastic.

It's been a long day and I could keep going on about how great it was but we are all pooped.  Tomorrow is a work day so stay tuned!

As lovely as a time I'm having and love Doug and Mykle, I'm missing home.  This is the longest I've ever been away from the family.

Au revoir!
