Day 7

 Bonjour!

OMFG, As if today couldn't get any better!

We started of by sleeping in a bit and having breakfast before getting ready for our day out today.  Needless to say today was a free day for me, no working at the house!

We drove over to Bayonne to go to Ikea for inspiration for items at the house.  The drive was absolutely beautiful. On the way we drove through the countryside and went through several small villages and drove past at least a dozen if not more sunflower fields and the views of the Pyrenees mountain ranges along with rolling hills of agriculture.  Just breathtaking.  I learned something on this trip.  All corn fields in our region are popcorn fields.  Very cool.

On the way home we took the freeway which was faster but not as scenic.  Nonetheless, still breathtaking!

Once home we made our afternoon cocktails and got settled in we got a notification that the new cell phone was waiting for us in a nearby Amazon pick up box.  Afterwards, Mykle and I went to Brico Marche for contractor bags for debris from the demo.  We learned that is a no no and all debris needs to be taken to a dump.  That will be another adventure! LOL

Mykle slaved in the kitchen making home made dough for our pizza this evening.  Umm, delicious!  I'm being spoiled. LOL

So, today was a great day.... I got my new phone with communication to back home and Wi-Fi for my music and texts at the house while working.  I got this blog up and running and to top off my day I'm learning how to speak in French 1-6! Woohoo.

As we were starting to wrap up our night I walked down the street to the Cathedral dated back to 848 and was destroyed by the Vikings and has been rebuilt many times.  So awesome that this piece of history is literally steps from our house.  Tonight there was a band playing in the square.  I was totally digging it.  I guess this isn't a normal things as Doug and Mykle have lived here for two years and have never seen/heard a concert at the cathedral.

All I can say is what a day and what a night!

Au revoir!
