Day 8

 Bonjour!

It was a sleep in day.  Woke up naturally to Doug and Mykle up starting their day.

I thought for a few minutes, "It's going to be a hot day and maybe I'll take a day for J Harper Design work.  I went over to the house in preparations to do some mild clean up and call it a day. LMFAO, WRONG!!!!

As usual, I got started and before I knew it I was on the scaffolding and ripping / disconnecting the power to the kitchen.  Before I knew it I was demoing the kitchen wall.  I got a call from Mykle that Mr. Falafel was in the park and asked if I wanted to come back to the house for lunch. As usual I said no as I was in the midst of a mess and wanted to finish it up.

As you can see from the photo's.... it wasn't easy work and again, I HURT :).  Funny thing is as I wrapped up, showered and heading back to Doug and Mykle's for a quick nap, Jon chimed in.  It's usually as I wrap up my day, Jon is starting his.  I sent him pictures of todays progress and when I said that I eliminated the electric to the kitchen and demoed the wall to the dining room he didn't flinch or say a word.  Let's just say that wasn't in my last set of floor plans.  I asked and his response "your going to do what you want anyway" LOL. After coming back to Doug and Mykle's I sent Jon a revised plan and I got a thumbs up.  I love how he trusts me when it comes to these things.

I normally work in silence and get the job done while working daily things out in my head. Today I was playing music and really had a moment mid demo. One, I'm starting to get homesick. Two, As much as I felt that The second Three Oaks was my biggest accomplishment, I now believe our house in France is.  Everything is different! (Electrical, building materials, etc.)

After burning up my saw-zaw, I realized that's a wrap for the day.  Showered up and headed to Doug and Mykle's for a nap.  Woke up and started on working on my clients in North Carolina.

As usual these guy's didn't disappoint.  Doug made a pasta with a meat sauce and Mykle a beet salad with fresh cucumber, feta cheese and a light dressing.  Lets just say, YUMMMM!!!!

I could ask for better hosts/friends/family!

Au revoir!
