Day 27

Okay, where do I begin?  Honestly.....

Today is both Mykle's birthday and  a nation catholic holiday "Assumption Day" https://nationaltoday.com/feast-of-the-assumption/ today.

So knowing it's a holiday like a Sunday, there is no work today.  So, keeping this in mind I took a sleep aid last night in every attempt to sleep in.

I woke up naturally and spent the morning working on J Harper Design work.  I finished up some work on a client in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and a client in Mooresville, NC.

Mykle and I headed to Le Clerc to pick up a few groceries and souvenirs before they closed for the holiday hours.  We also swung by the Lindt chocolate factory to pick u a few things to take home as well. Came back home and took a nap.

While we were watching a cooking show on tv and Doug was in the kitchen cooking dinner, we heard a weird rumble and felt it at the same time.  WE HAD AN EARTHQUAKE, 3.0 hit our area!  Not quite what I would have experienced (thankfully) but kinda cool.

As mentioned above, Doug made a lovely Birthday dinner for Mykle this evening.  Bleu D'auvergne (blue cheese) stuffed chicken breast with a stacked sliced potato seasoned number with steamed broccoli.

We plaid a few games of Farkle and had a homemade Strawberry shortcake that Doug made from scratch.  And when I say some scratch, everything down to the shortcake!  Mykle is loved!!!!!! :) During our game of Farkle, I made a reference from Lilli (our daughter from another family), she was our foreign exchange student that we had a few years back and consistently is in our thoughts and hearts. So, I had to Facetime her since we are in the same time zone and she knows Doug and Mykle well! Such a great addition to our day! Jon, Jonathan and I are looking forward to her visiting us in October along with her mom from Germany. :)

Okay funny story...I took down the recycle this evening as they pick up in the morning.   I may have had a bit of celebratory wine tonight and dropped a few items down the staircase making a bit of an echoing sound.  I went outside of the gates to put the recycled bits in the bin and realized that I may (okay did)  have walked a bit to far.  As I'm walking back, I had the three ladies bonjour me on my way back in the alley.  I came up stairs and said" these three drunk ladies bonjoured me", Mykle "or french ladies"? I couldn't stop laughing.  Everyone is so damn nice here!

What a day.  Tomorrow will be a work day!

Au revoir!
